DAY 5 OF THE 31 DAYS DEVOTIONAL WITH BRO IZUCHUKWU CHUKWUNWENDU

As believers, we must remember that our time on earth is short and fleeting. The Bible describes our lives as a “vapour” or “mist” (James 4:14). Our earthly tent is temporary and can be destroyed at any moment (2 Corinthians 5:1).

But why are we here? Our time on earth is meant for preparation, not permanence. We are to use our time to:

– Glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31)
– Share the Gospel (Matthew 28:18-20)
– Build eternal treasures (Matthew 6:19-20)

We are not building a permanent home here. Our eternal home is being prepared for us by God Himself (Hebrews 11:10). The New Jerusalem, our eternal city, is waiting for us (Revelation 21:1-4).

Let us live with eternity in view. Let us use our time wisely, preparing for our eternal home. Let us not get too attached to this world, for it is passing away (1 John 2:17).

Remember, our life on earth is just a preparation for the eternal city. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and live for what is eternal, Keep working for the Lord. Keep doing what He’s asked you to do, and don’t be found wanting. Do everything He’s called you to do, and finish it. The most important thing to Him is the human soul. That’s why Jesus came. So, keep winning souls and impacting the lives of those in your world with the Gospel. Prepare them to also live eternally with the Lord in our great and eternal city when the time comes.

CONFESSION

“Dear Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that my time on earth is temporary and fleeting. I confess that I have often gotten too attached to this world and forgotten that my true home is with You.

Help me to keep my eyes fixed on Jesus and to live for what is eternal. Give me the wisdom to use my time wisely, to glorify You, share the Gospel, and build eternal treasures.

I surrender my earthly attachments and desires to You, and I ask that You would prepare my heart for my eternal home. May my life be a reflection of my eternal hope in Jesus Christ.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
